The DAR is open to any woman who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death. Our lineage research committee is always here to assist you in the search for your Revolutionary War ancestor free of charge.

An informed Junior Member is essential for participation at all levels. Juniors are encouraged to learn and to lead in support of DAR objectives. Juniors attend meetings, serve on committees, subscribe to the DAR Magazine, and study the DAR Handbook to learn more about DAR. All chapters are encouraged to find ways to support the Junior Membership Committee by: recruiting Juniors, engaging them in chapter activities, and encouraging them in their DAR service.

Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution offers women the opportunity to help educate our youth, preserve our past, and promote love of our country while making lifelong friendships. You are the future of our National Society, and we hope you will become an active, contributing member, and enjoy its many opportunities to serve.
